Michelle Cook, LCSW
(Contract Therapist)
I am passionate about supporting individuals to make meaningful changes and live a more purpose-filled life. What brought me to this profession was my own journey of self discovery and the belief that through challenge can come great opportunity.
In my work, I am a proponent of leaning into vulnerability and discomfort. This requires stepping into the “messiness” with clients and working together to craft a new path. My approach to therapy is very client centered. I support clients in cultivating greater self awareness, improving emotional regulation, purpose discovery, honing mindfulness techniques and increasing stress management skills.
I received my Masters in Social Work from SUNY Albany in 2004 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado since 2006. I am also a Life Coach. I use a psychodynamic approach and draw upon CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness approaches as well as tools from Life Coaching to guide clients in identifying and developing goals that move them towards actionable change.
Outside of my role as a therapist, I am a wife, mother of three and an avid connoisseur of all things outdoors. I love delicious meals, meaningful conversations with friends and cuddles from my dog.
Change can be challenging, but partnering with a therapist who supports you and holds you accountable can lead to deep personal growth. I would love the opportunity to meet with you, please use the link below to schedule a free consultation.
